Responsibilities of a Delegate
1. Core Governance
- Active Participation: Maintain a 90% vote participation rate and provide written rationales for major decisions.
- Governance Innovation: Contribute new ideas and improve governance processes each quarter.
- Budget Oversight: Review and approve community round budgets with transparency.
- Strategic Planning: Help shape Gitcoin’s long-term vision through strategic input.
2. Leading GG Community Rounds Decision-Making
- Review and vote on GG community round proposals.
- Collaborate on retrospectives to assess past funding rounds (optional).
- Elect a lead representative to provide monthly updates to the DAO.
Time Commitment
Being a delegate is an important but manageable responsibility. Expect to commit:
- 1-2 hours/week for core governance activities.
- 2 hours/week for community rounds review during GG rounds.
- Flexible commitment for partnership development (outcome-focused).
- Total: ~3 hours/week on average.
