Gitcoin First Retroactive Funding Comes To An End

Gitcoin Disburses $50K to Community Round Operators

Gitcoin’s first retroactive funding round has recently been concluded, This funding round was aimed at rewarding and recognizing the performance in operating its Community Rounds using its Grants Stack. In the EasyRPGF round, $50,000 was distributed across nine eligible rounds that participated in GG20 and GG21. Here’s a comprehensive overview of the process and key insights and highlights from stakeholders.

EasyRPGF Round Results

There was enthusiastic participation in the EasyPRGF round from badgeholders, who played an important role in evaluating the impact and autonomy of each round. CCN, Asia Round, and TEC were the top-performing rounds and each received 2.641 ETH each for their exceptional work and in recognition of their achievements. They were also praised for their user-friendly interface and had a voting of rating of 4.67/5, from the badgeholders.

Badgeholders Feedback

Badgeholders commended the platform’s Telegram community for its simplicity but recommended improvements in some areas. They recommended that “voter rationale” threads be introduced to foster deeper engagement. There should be in limit in the number of links submitted or impact metrics by the projects. And, that embedding feedback mechanisms directly in the platform could enhance accessibility.  Finally, they suggested that more examples or frameworks on what a badgeholder role is should be made available.

Round Operators Feedback

Based on their experience on the Gitcoin’s ecosystem, the operators rated the round a 4.5 out of 5. They had some recommendations; such as there should be clarity in the application process. A more simplified onboarding, and the porting of historical round data linked to wallets. Also, they pushed for more financial transparency on the platform. There should be estimates of funding per vote so that everyone cold see and understand the financial outcomes.

Overall Feedback

There’s been a set theme across all the stakeholders and these are:

  1. There should be clearer financial allocation details
  2. Uniform metrics to simplify project comparisons and reduce ambiguity.
  3. More collaboration amongst badgeholders with shared resources and discussion threads.
  4. Tools like automated data entry and visual analytics should be integrated.

In Conclusion

The EasyRPGF round was successful and continues to promote Gitcoin’s dedication to empowering decentralized ecosystems. Funds were distributed efficiently and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. In all, we are looking forward to Gitcoin’s next funding round.
